To enter our competition send in a photo or short video to cwigley@puketapu.school.nz and tell us what value you are showing.
To get in the draw to win a prize make sure your photo or video is in by Sunday the 17th of October (the last day of the school holidays). Your picture may be displayed around the school, in a school values video, or be placed in the newsletter.

This week Mr Lewis's class have tried their hand at making sushi and rice paper spring rolls. Both these dishes are cheap and easy to make - and delicious!
They are also both great for using leftover chicken and vegetables that you might have sitting in the fridge.

Enrolments for 2022
Our Board has determined that up to 6 places for New Entrant students are likely to be available for out-of-zone students next year. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.
For students seeking enrolment within the first enrolment period, the deadline for receipt of applications for out-of-zone places is Friday 24 September 2021.
Parents of students who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during the next year should also notify the school by Friday 24 September 2021 to assist the school to plan appropriately for next year.

Great news that Year 5/6 Gold and Intermediate Penguins have both made the finals this week!
Gold: Thursday 23rd September at 6.05pm. Court 3
Penguins: Friday September 24th at 6.20pm Court 3
Due to Covid Level 2 restrictions not everyone is allowed to come and support. However, if you are interested in watching, the game will be live streamed on the Puketapu Facebook page at around 6:20pm.

Indoor Football

Tennis
Lepperton Tennis will be again running our super cool kids coaching classes in Term 4 - now open for registrations. Thursdays after school for ages 5-15 with qualified coach. Lessons will be in groups of approx 6 kids of similar age / ability for 45 mins. Head along if you want to have fun whilst being introduced to tennis or to improve your motor skills and tennis technique. $50 each for term, discounts for families. Lesson time slot to be sorted once registrations are in. Racquets provided if needed. Email shereeandrew@hotmail.com to register or for any questions.

Well done to Kian Devonshire, Tyreece Joines and Kayden Tango who have been selected to play in the New Plymouth Basketball Under 11 team at the Roto Vegas tournament at Labour Weekend. Well done to Kade Davis who has been selected to play in the Under 13s at the same tournament.

Superstars

Mr Horse was seen to be forging Mr Walkers signature on our School Value certificates last week.

This wonderful superstar Ivy-Ana Edwards started school last week and has been so brave and confident, showing all our School Values already.

These wonderful tamariki have been helping Whaea Kerie during their lunch play to sort the school lunches.
Ethan Cross and Marcel Engels did office duty for the first time today and what an amazing job they did. Thanks for all your mahi boys.
