Elementary Updates
Dear Elementary Parents,
Welcome to 2023! It is difficult to believe we are halfway through this school year. We hope you all had a refreshing winter break and are ready for a Spring semester packed with fun-filled educational events.
Spring also marks the season of state-mandated testing. To maximize your child’s success, it is vital that he/she come to school each day. Our Choice School Contract discusses attendance and states that a student who has 10 or more unexcused absences may lose their spot at STEM. Meetings will be held this semester for students with excessive absences.
Thank you for always ensuring your child has a very successful school year. I wish you and your family many blessings in 2023!
Best Regards,
Monica Elizondo, M.Ed.

Secondary Updates
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you all rested from the winter holiday. This month kicks off our semester long PBL for our graduating Seniors. For the last two years, this has always been a very exciting time for this group of young adults. The seniors get assigned to an elementary grade classroom that they visit monthly, and they are also getting a preview of the events to come for the remainder of the semesters. Please make sure your senior is present on the 27th.
This month is also our annual Winter Formal Dance for our high school students. While prime is only for juniors and seniors, the Winter Formal is a dance for ALL high school students at STEM. This year our venue has changed to the Far West Event Center (see flyer in this newsletter). Please encourage your student to purchase a ticket and attend this awesome social activity for our high school students.
Last but certainly not least be on the lookout for communication regarding academic planning for the 2023-2024 school year. Academic planning for the upcoming school year helps our campus with plans for staffing and making sure that students are where they should be at the start of the year. Your student will bring home paperwork from academic planning that requires a parent's signature. Please make sure this is signed and returned.
