BLOG ~ Last week, Compass Charter Schools (CCS) celebrated Red Ribbon Week! It’s a time dedicated to raising awareness about healthy life choices and living in a drug-free America. To celebrate, all week long CCS’ scholars participated in Spirit Week to show their support for a drug-free America and to show off their spectacular school spirit. END OF LEARNING PERIOD ~ Learning Period 2 ends this Wednesday, October 31. Please be sure you have completed all of your Activity Logs in ParentSquare up through Friday. (This week’s will be sent to you on Friday.) Also, please be sure to upload your scholar’s work samples into Seesaw by Wednesday, although before is better! Here are some helpful work sample guides for TK-8 and high school. Contact your EF if you have any questions.

THE GREAT COURSES
The Great Courses offers a wide array of video lectures and guidebooks on any subject your scholar might be studying. When visiting the website, you’ll see that each course offers a variety of format and options for acquiring the information. In addition, you are given a brief overview of what your scholar will learn in the course as well as what’s included in each purchasing option. You can even read reviews of the course and decide if it’s a good fit for your scholar. The Great Cousres website is easy to use and includes a wealth of information.
COUNSELING SERVICES
WEEKLY COLLEGE SPOTLIGHT ~ ART SCHOOLS
To guide scholars on college options, the Counseling Services Department will provide a weekly spotlight on various schools during the open application period. This week the focus is on Art Schools. Art schools are educational institutions with a primary focus on specific art forms, which may include visual arts, fashion design, digital design, and culinary arts. The Art schools we are spotlighting this week are the Laguna College of Art and Design, California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), and California College of the Arts.
