ESSER funding

Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

DPI requires that each district seek feedback from parents and guardians as part of the ESSER funding. Last Thursday in School Talk, the same article on ESSER was printed for parents and guardians with a different link at the bottom to capture parent, guardian, and community input. Please reach out to your parents and guardians to complete.

The deadline for this is Friday, May 28th.

Bookmark Contest

This winter, Washington PTA sponsored a bookmark design challenge for students in grades K-1, 2-3, and 4-5 to show their Raider school spirit and promote reading. Each student had the opportunity to design a bookmark and a panel of judges chose the winners. Each winning bookmark was printed with the 2020 Walk-a-Thon sponsors on the back and were distributed to Washington students during their library time. Congratulations to the following Bookmark Design winners: K-1 Levi C., 2-3 Grace P., and 4-5 Leah P. Congratulations Raiders and keep on reading!

Virtual Escape Room

Washington PTA hosted a virtual carnival themed escape room for students to participate in with their families the first part of April. Over 80 students completed the challenge and unlocked the prize room by answering a series of problems to find the secret code. Participants had to draw on their money sense, counting, literacy and problem-solving skills to complete the puzzle. All participants that unlocked the code received a special prize from PTA and Keely L. was the Grand Prize Winner selected for finishing the puzzle and submitting a picture to PTA! Congratulations, Raiders! We are so proud of your hard work and determination to crack the code.
