From the Principal

Hi everyone and I hope you have all managed some time in the glorious sunshine today !

Happy Mother's Day

We wish all our wonderful Mums and Grandmothers a wonderful day on Sunday. We are indeed blessed to be able to share it freely without a mask!

You will be receiving a little gift from us to you (pictured above) via the eldest child in your family today. While it is small gift, it comes with all our love and best wishes - for all you do and all you are, to your children, to the staff and to your friends and family. Many thanks to the P&F and to the Office staff for all they did to get these together - you are awesome!

The easing of COVID restrictions is very welcome by us all and to be able to gather and celebrate at home, in parks and restaurants is special. Have fun everyone!

Mothers Day Assembly

Many thanks to the awesome Year Two's who did such a lovely job at this morning's assembly! We listened to their heartfelt messages of love and admiration through poems, personal reflections and song. They did a really fabulous job and there is no doubt that we learnt a lot about our Year Two mums today - talented workers, beautiful inside and out, amazing cooks, great readers and much more!

School Desks for sale

Please check out the details below for a great bargain! These desks would be perfect for an outdoor patio space for kids to draw or create on in a bedroom or playroom.

COVID Update

  • No mask wearing required from Monday next week.
  • It is still Phase 4 so social distancing required.
  • We continue to encourage parents to use the WA Safe App.

NAPLAN next week

Parents of Year Three and Five students are asked to please ensure that children are present for these assessments.

Here at school we have continued to reinforce that assessments like these are nothing to be feared and that as long as we give our very best effort that is all anyone can ask.

There is an article by Michael Grose attached below which also has some good commonsense advice.

We are very excited to be hosting a special Autism presentation by Clara Harris who will share her personal journey as a mother of a child with Autism. We would love to see as many families as possible come along to listen and we hope this opportunity will be inspiring and informative. More details below.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Kind regards

Tania Thuijs

School social workers focus on the student in the school environment and work collaboratively with principals and teachers to minimise the impacts of personal, family and school difficulties and, where possible, remove any barriers to learning.

With students as their focus, school social workers provide consultancy, advice and support to principals, teachers and other school staff and to families so that they can best meet the needs of individual and groups of children and young people. There is a strong emphasis on individual student and family counselling and support. This is an amazing opportunity for kids, staff and families and one we have wanted in our school for some time.

Please find below the Parent Referral and Consent Form to access our School Social Worker.

You are asked to read the procedure carefully and also note that Kylie only works two days a week. While she will do her very best to accomodate all family referrals, patience may be required as she prioritises her case load and allows time for observation visits, classroom support and playground involvement.
