One Last Day To Donate To Hooked Books!!!
Dear Clear Creek Families,
Our Hooked on Books collection has been a huge success!! To date we have collected over 5000 books for kids in need!! The outpouring of support for this community service project has been simply amazing…thank you!!
The absolute last and final day to turn in donations is Monday, February 22nd. With the weekend upon you, please consider taking some time to clean out bookcases, closets and storage areas to find those final donations that your family would like to pass along to children right here in the KC Metro area.
Our school goal is to collect 7000 new or gently used books. As you can see, we still have some work to do!! Any donations you can send to CCE are much appreciated.
Thank you again for your effort and support!

Voluntary School Transfer Option to attend Lexington Trails Middle School or De Soto High School for the 2016-17 school year
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The school district is now accepting voluntary transfer requests for students to attend Lexington Trails Middle School or De Soto High School for the 2016-17 school year. This option is available for students who reside within the attendance areas of Mill Valley High School, Monticello Trails Middle School or Mill Creek Middle School.
This voluntary transfer option is only for students who desire to attend LTMS or DHS.
We ask that you please consider letting us know of your decision to transfer by Friday, April 15 to allow our schools time to effectively prepare for the new school year. While requests will still be accepted after April 15, please know that decisions regarding voluntary transfers (after April 15) may be granted on a space available basis.
If you are undecided about transferring, we encourage you to take advantage of Parent Information Nights (for incoming 6th and 9th grade students) at LTMS and DHS to help make a decision for your family.
If you decide to voluntarily transfer, please use the following link to download and print the Intra-District Transfer Request form (PDF). Link >> http://bit.ly/1LbGLca
- The transfer request form makes reference to the current procedure regarding bus transportation for transfer students. Please familiarize yourself with that information.
- New! For 2016-17: We are taking steps to waive the transportation fee for DHS/LTMS transfer students. We will keep you advised.
- Please check the box “Enrollment Balancing” as the reason for the transfer request. Once the form is complete, please send to your current school principal for processing.
Again, this voluntary transfer option is only for students who desire to attend Lexington Trails Middle School or De Soto High School.
Sincerely,
USD 232 Administration
Fourth Graders Celebrate Famous People From History
CCE fourth grader's really enjoyed their book project this month! Students choose a famous person from history, then read a book and researched to discover interesting details before writing an essay. As part of their project, the students created a "wax museum" where they portrayed their historical person by dressing in character and giving important details about their lives. Staff, students and families enjoyed moving between fourth grade classrooms to visit all the characters in the museum. The result was outstanding, entertaining AND educational! Great job 4th graders!
