Dress Code

Spring weather is finally here, and the temperatures are on the rise. Please make sure that your student is dressed appropriately for our learning environment. In addition to what can be found on page 22 of the student handbook, general guidelines include making sure shorts, skirts, or dresses are appropriate length and refraining from wearing tank tops / muscle shirts.

RMS Honors Night

You will receive an invite to let you know your student is being honored. Romeo Middle School Honors Night will be held in the Romeo High School auditorium. Each program will begin promptly at the times noted below:

6th grade - 6:00 p.m.

7th grade - 7:00 p.m.

8th grade - 8:00 p.m.

*Please join us for refreshments and the art show following each program.

Cell Phone Policy

Please be reminded of our school policy for cell phone usage. Cell phones are to be turned off and stored in your student's locker. Students may use cell phones before entering and after leaving the building. If your student is not feeling well or needs to call home for any reason, they need to come to the office; we have a student phone available for them. Consequences for using a cell phone may result in detention, loss of Barrymore's, Character Counts, and Cedar Point.

8th Grade Summer Dance

The annual end-of-the-year 8th grade dance is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 11th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Parents are reminded that this is not a formal event, and that clothing should be age and school appropriate. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the 8th graders off to the high school. The cost is $5.00 and tickets will be sold during the 8th grade lunch hours May 9th – May 11th.

The STEAM Museum is visiting RMS

The STEAM Museum is visiting Romeo Middle School on May 29th. Through a generous grant provided by the Romeo Foundation for Educational Excellence, all 6th grade Science students will be able to experience this exciting, hands-on event bringing together Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math. Mrs. Raicevich & Mr. Wenz would like to thank the Foundation board and the parent volunteers for helping to provide this unique experience for the RMS 6th grade scientists!

Boater's Safety

Seventh grade students recently participated in a Boaters Safety course through the Macomb County Sheriff Marine Division. At the end of the course, students took a 50

question test over the material covered in the text and in class. If students passed with a 70% or better, they earned a boating safety certificate. 158 students out of 159 total (90%)

passed and earned their certificate. Eight students earned 100%!

Students who received a perfect score of 100% are: Madison Clor, Cody Hunt, Tyler Pressel, Danielle Culkin, Elena Nikolovski, Melina Waldschmidt, Maximiliano Jamil, Maxxin Guinn.

These students will be invited to a field trip with the other 100 percenters throughout Macomb County. They will tour the Macomb County Sheriff Marine Division station, go out on the Sheriff's boats, tour the DNR next door and have lunch with the deputies.

Congratulations to all students who earned their certificates!

C.J. Barrymore’s Eligibility Requirements

June 6, 2018- $20.00 Per Student

To be eligible to attend - Beginning April 9th

(4th quarter), students must have:

No more than two after-school detentions, NO extended detentions, and NO suspensions. All library or book fees, athletic fees, Chromebook fees, or fines of any kind must be paid, and overdue books must be returned in order to purchase a ticket!!! This year’s event takes place on June 6th. Permission slips will be sent home at the end of the month.

Tuesday, June 12th

Depart PMS Front parking lot at 6:30 a.m.

Return at approx. 10:30 p.m. to PMS Front parking lot.

Peanut/Treenut Free snacks only!!!!

Important Information Regarding Updating Student Information:

Once again student information will be updated online for the 2018/19 school year. All families will be receiving a letter in late July/early August with instructions on how to update and verify their child’s information. This information is used for emergency situations and therefore, it is extremely important that these updates be completed prior to the start of the school year. Please look for the letter to arrive by early August and feel free to contact the school office if you have any questions.
