What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
Last week was a fantastic week! We had a visit from Senator Timilty and Representative Galvin for Civics week, and we ended our week off with our first SHINE assembly for the year.
This week, we are launching the Boostherthon (see the CAPT section for more details), we will have an assembly for students in K-2 with the Harney Pender Keady Academy of Irish Dance, and we will have Tuesday Tea.

It's National Nutrition Month. You may have made your New Year's resolutions to eat better and exercise more. National Nutrition Month is a nice reminder to keep up with your goals and talk to your children about making healthy nutritional choices. The students and staff will see our Re-Think Your Drink display at school (see image below), and here are some tips to enjoy more fruits and vegetables. 20 Ways to Enjoy More Fruits and Vegetables Don't try to change everything at once; make one change and see habits gradually change.

CAPT News https://sites.google.com/view/luce-capt/
Boostershon REGISTRATION IS NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN! We want all families to help our school by registering on mybooster.com today and enter your family’s details. We would like to see 75% of our whole school registered. If we reach that goal by fun run day, our whole school gets a PJ DAY!
The Booster Program comes with an incredible character development program. Our students will be learning about Curiosity, Confidence, Humility, Practice, and Endurance from REAL kid-athletes like them through the theme Sports City Worldwide! Check these videos out with your student daily on mybooster.com!
CAPT Treasurer We are looking for a new treasurer for next year. This is a great role for someone who would like to be involved in CAPT and the school, but who doesn't necessarily want to run a major event or volunteer in person. Much of the work can be done at home. Excel skills are a must. Someone who has current or past experience in accounting, finance, or any type of data analysis or reporting would be great. Anyone who is interested or has any questions should send us an email (lucecapt@gmail.com) as soon as possible. It would be great if we could find a person to shadow our current treasurer through the end of the year.

Substitutes Needed (Repost)
Do you have a college-age child coming home for winter break? If so, would they be interested in subbing for the Canton Public Schools while they are here? Subbing is a great way to keep busy, make money and get real-world work experience. In Canton, we have had great success bringing our own, former students back to help support our students and schools during this busy time year. If your child is interested, please have them fill out this sub application packet and email it to Kim Eardley (eardleyk@cantonma.org) to get the process started. If they fill it out before they get home, the process can begin asap!
Students in their first year of college are able to sub at the elementary and preschool levels only.
Students in their second year or beyond can sub at all school levels.
