Listen Up Project
In March 2021, Kingdom County Productions and the Listen Up Project will launch Black Voices of Vermont, an interactive media project honoring and centering the voices of Black Vermonters. A collaborative story sharing project, Black Voices of Vermont will amplify the stories and perspectives of Black teens across the state.
We extend an invitation to you and your friends to share your story with us. Via email, participants will collaborate with project director, Shani Stoddard, for a few short questions about your lived experience in Vermont. Over the course of the month of March, these interviews will be turned into a spotlight feature, to be shared across various social media platforms.
What would it be like if we practiced listening to a different perspective every single day? Let's build a sense of interconnectedness through our stories.

Spring college visits at EHS
You can find information about college representatives who will visit EHS this spring on the EHS website. Please select Counseling in the blue bar at the top of the screen, then select College Visits to EHS on the left sidebar. Click on any school that interests you to get details including contact information for their regional representative and a URL to join the meeting.
At the meeting you can show your interest by asking questions, so consider preparing a few in advance. Try to make them questions that you can't find the answer to on their website. You can also make a good impression by reading up on the school in advance and mentioning the things you saw on their website that would be a great match for you.

Suicide Prevention for Youth
It is common for youth to experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, and thoughts of wanting to die. In fact, suicide is the second leading cause of death among people ages 10-24, however, suicide is preventable when we know the warning signs and get help. Attached is information about possible signs of suicide and ways to take action. Please know, too, that School Counselors are also available to talk to about any concerns you have.
