Chaplain's Chatter: Thoughts, Reflections and Musings from the Catholic Chaplain
Happy Advent Everyone!
Today is the First Sunday of Advent - the first day of our liturgical year. Happy New Year! Advent is a journey that invites us to a new and deeper understanding of our God who loved us so much that God became one of us to discover more fully what it was like to be human.
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, Advent is a season when we reflect on what God is bringing to birth in our own lives. Advent is an opportunity to discover more fully the person who God created us to be. What a gift to be able to do so!
Advent is a PERFECT season for us as we approach the end of a semester! It offers us an opportunity to step out of the busyness of the semester and slow down and listen for the voice of God found within each of us.
Today we begin a journey of moving forward in hope and finding light in the darkness. The adventure begins tonight at our 7:00PM Mass.
Advent Peace,
~ Jamie
