Updates:
Well, things are looking GREAT in the library/lab! We're nearing completion of construction, and all of our "old" furniture was delivered today. We're expecting the bulk of the new furniture to arrive next Wednesday. We're hopeful to stage a "grand re-opening" for our kiddos the first week of February, but we're waiting to hear on the delivery/installation plan for the last piece; the big sliding glass door is ready for shipping, but we're not sure when to expect it. We may open the space WITHOUT it in place (not a safety concern), or we may wait, depending on how close we are to the install date. We'll keep you posted! The right-hand door is now unlocked (shhh), so feel free to wander in and take a look! We're NOT yet ready for parking/passing through the space, but we'll be back in business soon!
Parking:
As we all noticed, we are done with the dumpster! We still need to leave those parking spots clear (just through next week) so our construction/electrical crews have open access as needed, but likely by 2/4 we'll be back to normal in the lot.
February SEL Book:
If you'd be willing to invite me in when you read your copy of "Strictly No Elephants" to your class, I'd love to be a part of the fun... and maybe take a little video clip to share back with the PTO exec board, as they've been so generous in funding this initiative! Let me know :)

Shout Outs!!!!
- To Kevin, for monitoring the work in the Library/Lab renovation, cleaning the space about 1 million times to keep on top of the dust!, and always being ready to assist the crews and direct traffic through all this work -- THANK YOU!
- To Vickie and Courtney, for their flexibility, patience, and hard work through the final steps of the renovation.
- To Amanda, for so seamlessly joining our staff and doing SO MUCH for our kids, every day - you're a great addition to the team!
- Denise for all the layers of work and prep for the upcoming Science Expo -- it's exciting to see our kids getting excited about Science!
- To our teachers and staff who hold weekly meetings to talk about our "frequent flier" friends; you go above and beyond to meet their needs, and do it with grace and positivity even when you're quadruple-booked into lunch meetings!
- To Vickie for creating the MAP schedule for this week and being ready for anything with the challenges of MAP testing!
- To Kerry for her hard work on the MAP accommodations schedule - it's an ever-evolving puzzle, and you handle it masterfully!
- To ALL the folks who stepped forward to help test our kiddos in unique settings: Lisa B., Sue T., Kerry, Sue Q., Terry, and Janet!
- Thanks to all teachers for working hard to pass along our message of calm, comfortable testing parameters with our new timing guidelines for MAP testing.
- Thanks to Scott and Sydney for being our next round of R4I-folks: let's get this journey started!
- Thanks to Cathy for her grace and flexibility as we shift her role for next year, and her enthusiasm to kick off her next round of impact at Field Park in the library next year!
- To Laurie O'Connell for the relationships she builds; watching a sick kid head-dive into your lap shows just how much trust and love you've built through these years, and that's an amazing thing!
