STEAM Tidbits
In STEAM we're working on becoming collaborative workers. Students have been working in groups to accomplish a common goal. PreK is learning about healthy habits. This week we talked about how germs are spread. In kindergarten we're learning about structure and function. 1st grade is working on programming an animated story. 2nd grade is learning about erosion and will be creating retaining wall models (pictures to come!). 3rd grade is currently learning about hazardous weather and will be creating a green screen video while acting out a skit as a meteorologist. 4th grade is learning how to program a game using a program called Scratch. They may work on this at home. Have a great weekend!

Walkathon Hats Order Deadline
All students raising $100 or more receive a Hudsonville Eagles hat courtesy of Bauer Parent Club AND have the option to order a limited number of additional hats at a discounted price. If you qualify for a hat, you received an email with the order form. ORDERS ARE DUE NEXT WEEK THURSDAY, OCTOBER 12 (if we don’t receive your order, we will order your student a youth hat). Please reach out to Becca Johnson at rebecca.lauren.johnson@gmail.com with any hat-related questions.
Coin War
It’s that time of year again! Save all your pennies and gather all your dimes, and get ready for our annual Michigan vs. Michigan Coin War! Your child can drop off all coins (and paper money for you competitive folks!) and place it in their allotted teams’ bucket. Donations can be made to a U of M bucket, MSU bucket, or Other favorite team bucket. These donations gathered in the fall are utilized for the Fall Book Fair. Scholastic matches these donations and gives back to underprivileged communities and in return we get to keep the raised funds to help stock our classroom libraries. Coins will be collected each morning the week of October 16-20 prior to the big Michigan/Michigan State game. Look for a newsletter to come out with more information and thank you for your donations!
Culver’s Night is BACK!
Delicious food served by your favorite Bauer staff?? It’s going down at the Hudsonville Culver’s (3915 32nd Ave) on Tuesday, October 24th from 5-8pm! A portion of sales will come back to BPC to fund all the great activities your students enjoy - so please save the date, come hungry and bring your friends!!
Save the Date for Skate
Our first Bauer Skating Party will be Thursday, October 26th from 6:15 - 8:15 PM at Tarry Hall in Grandville. Please join us for a fun night on the roller rink! While this is an event for Bauer families, all minors in attendance must be under direct adult supervision. Admission is $7 for all skaters (no cost for spectators). Rentals are $3 for rollerblades or rollerskates.
