Together, we are The 1104
Hello Palm Bay Families,
Research tells us that teacher expectations of student performance is the largest contributing factor to student success. With that in mind, I am encouraging our teachers and staff to expect the best for our learners. We should not accept anything less than their best effort. If they turn papers in with poor spelling, improper grammar, or if it is incomplete, we will give it back to them to fix. If they turn in work that we know to be below their best effort, we will return it to be done again. We are going to hold them to a high standard! We believe every student we teach is capable of great things.
I am asking for your help. We know that pushing students to do more challenging work will come with some tears. When a coach asks their team to run sprints during practice, they do not like it. But when the team wins a game because of the hard work they have put in their practices, they are excited and proud of themselves. I want our students to be excited with their accomplishments in putting forth effort and being successful in class. So, when you hear them complain that school is hard, tell them you agree. It is hard! But they can do it. Tell them we are pushing them because we care. Tell them we are there to help them. We believe each learner is capable of great things!
The 1104 is where the expectations are high and the learners WILL thrive! Thank you all for your support!

School Spotlights
There is much to celebrate during Spirit Week at the 1104 campus! Our students did an AMAZING job dressing up each day and bringing TONS of creativity in their "1104" outfits. Students enjoyed Olympic House games during electives, played Math and Literacy board games, and created newspaper articles with current events from November 11th. What a FUN week!
Student Government is underway and helping bring ideas for campus improvement. Looking forward to November and continued fundraising (the first magnet selling fundraiser in the car pick-up line was a BIG success; THANK YOU)! SGA has given feedback to improve morning announcements K-12 and are planning a Spring event schoolwide. They are also beginning to make concrete plans for the junior/senior prom.
High school grade levels continue to meet with their class sponsor. Shirts will be available to order soon to show class pride! Also, 10th graders will be taking their first class field trip downtown November 17th with Mrs. Fuller.
