Edmond Doyle Newsletter 12-10-15

We are so thankful for those of you that were able to attend our Hour of Code event at the Lucy Smith center. I hope everyone got to see the awesome newspaper article that was written about our exciting day. Whenever Buff TV finishes our tape-I'll let you know where you can watch it. My son, Kyle Brock, did a great job telling the kids about some of the exciting things they can do by learning computer science. I must say-he made me very proud-being Kyle and Jessie's mom is the best thing I will ever accomplish. Being a parent and watching my children as they progress through life is a lot of fun for me-of course, it's not always the easiest thing, as we all know. Just embrace your children while they are young-a blink of an eye and they will be 33 and 24! However, then grandchildren come along and you're back to square one-so the fun never ends, I suppose!! We were also very proud to have Representative Donnie Condit, Mayor Steve Harrison, and Representative Markwayne Mullin's field representative, Betty Ford join us. They made us feel very special!

Please start sending $7.50 if possible for your child to go to the show on December 18th. It's always awesome if you can send extra to help others that may need assistance. If you are planning to join us -your cost is $5.00, but we must know today so we can give the show an estimate of how many people will be coming. Parents can pay at the show.

Our Christmas program will be Tuesday, December 15th at 6:30. It will be at S. Arch Auditorium. Your child will need to be there at 6:15. They need to wear what they would wear to church or to a nice event. Mrs. Braswell is amazing, so you can expect a great night of entertainment.

Our PTO meeting that was to be held today is cancelled. We will reschedule soon!

Please remind your children that school won't be out until December 18th at 3:00. This is an exciting time of the year, but we still have a lot of work to do. We will be taking our 2nd Study Island Benchmark-we need them to do their very best work! Your children are wonderful-make sure they are reading to get their AR points and they are getting their homework completed and turned in on time. Our attendance has really been better and tardies are down-thank you for helping in this matter. We love your kids and we love their families, too.
