Attendance and Visiting Prospective Colleges
Seniors are given TWO excused absences for College Days. In order to have the absences excused, it will be necessary to turn in a note on college letterhead with the student's name and date of the visit. This should be turned in to Mrs. Wood in Attendance.

YOUR COMMITMENT
- An eight-year service commitment with the Army.
- Serve full time in the Army for four years and four years with the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR).
- Selected Cadets may choose to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career
Beauty School Scholarship - $2500
BigSun Scholarship - $500
All student athletes are eligible to apply for the BigSun Scholarship, regardless of sport. Requires a short essay to a prepared question. $500 available to announced winners. Application deadline is June 19, 2017.
David M. Cline Scholarship - $2000

To be eligible for the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program, the applicant must be a current high school senior entering a four-year, accredited US college or university in the Fall of 2016, currently a member (in good standing) of a high school sports team or be involved in after-school sports (e.g. intramurals, martial arts, etc.), have maintained an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher from ninth grade to first semester of 12th grade and be a U.S. citizen or US Permanent Legal Resident. Deadline is December 16.
Freedom Alliance Scholarship
The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to the dependent children of U.S. military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled as a result of an operational mission or training accident, or a U.S. military personnel who is classified as a prisoner of war (POW) or missing in action (MIA). You must also maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and be enrolled full time to remain on scholarship and to be eligible to renew your scholarship.
NEW Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities Annual Journalism Contest
Your article must address the theme: “#Inclusion Works.” It should reflect the message that businesses that practice inclusiveness of people with disabilities benefit from an expanded base of skills, talents and innovation. Your article should recognize the achievements of individuals with disabilities in the workplace. You do not have to have a disability to apply. Deadline is February 1, 2017. Lexington District One Office Professionals Scholarship - $600
This scholarship is provided by the Lexington District One Educational Office Professionals Organization and will be awarded to a current Lexington School District One student meeting the following qualifications: -Is a graduating senior who plans to attend an accredited two or four year institution in the fall term following the awarding of the scholarship -Is pursuing a degree in a Business program (Computer Science, Advertising, Marketing, Accounting, etc.). -Has maintained a 3.0 GPA in high school -Is a United States citizen and a resident of South Carolina -Demonstrates through grades, character, and commitment a potential success as a business professional. NAFEPA Scholarship Program
Selection Process
Scholarship winners will be selected based upon the following criteria of equal point value:
High school or college transcript from the fall of 2016 (20 points)
Extracurricular activities, leadership, service within the community, non-profit or church(20 points)
Three letters of recommendation, including letter from the principal (20 points)
Financial need (20 points)
- A 300 word essay (max, please) outlining his/her leadership activities and future goals. (20 points)

National College Funding Services Scholarship - $500
The National College Funding Services Scholarship is for participating high schools within Lexington Once School District for a 2016-2017 graduating senior. In order to qualify for the scholarship an individual must complete the official scholarship form. The winner from each school must attend an accredited college, university or technical school to validate the scholarship. The scholarship is a random drawing by April 1st or before Awards Night. The application must be turned in to Counseling & Advisement before the deadline.

Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarship Program
Ronald McDonald House Charities offer scholarships to students in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. The deadline for the 2016 academic year is January 18, 2017.
SunTrust Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes - $500
SunTrust Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes offer high school seniors a chance to win a $500 scholarship for their first year of college or private career school. One winner will be chosen at random every two weeks from September 12, 2016 until May 12, 2017.

NHA Scholarship Fund
This scholarship an individual must be a prospective or current high school graduate and the natural, step, or adopted son, daughter or grandchild, or a spouse, of a current or former Navy, USMC or Coast Guard rotary wing aviator or air crewman. Spartanburg Methodist College Scholars Program
A full tuition financial package is offered to seniors who graduate with a 3.0 grade point average. In addition, students can also qualify for "Open House Scholarships" of $500 when they visit campus on an Open House Day.
TEACH Grants - new program for future teachers
Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grants (TEACH) will be available at some colleges and universities beginning this academic year.
