Powers of Legislative Branch

The legislative Branch has many jobs, for one they write laws and then try to pass them into laws. They are also commanders of the armed forces which means they can choose to start wars on other countries. Article one created congress which gave it the power it had today. The Senate is responsible for approving many decisions made by the President. Some of the President's appointments, for example, require consent from the legislative branch. The Senate must confirm the appointments of judges, ambassadors and department. to pass a bill you need the senate and house to both approve.
