Room 26 Weekly News
October 17-27, 2017
Announcements
Due to the unusual schedule during conference week, this newsletter will cover the weeks of October 17-20 AND October 23-27.
As a reminder, this FRIDAY is our field trip to the San Diego Symphony. A notice went home on Tuesday with all 5th graders with some important reminders. Most importantly, students must be at school at 8:00 a.m. This is earlier than normal (they will go in through the office, office staff knows that 5th graders are allowed back to their classrooms). We need to take attendance quickly and board the buses so we are departing by 8:15. Your child will be back at school for our regular lunch (bringing or buying) and school will be dismissed at 1:25.
As you know, the amazing LCM Halloween Carnival will be taking place this Friday and Saturday. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our classroom basket and volunteered to help out to make this event a great success!
Next week, October 23-27 is our Red Ribbon Week. In order to highlight the good choices we can make to live healthy lives and say no to drugs, we will be having the following dress-up days (please note: no makeup, masks, or props):
Monday (10/23) - "Team Up Against Drugs" (wear your favorite sports shirt or jersey)
Tuesday (10/24) - "Too Bright to Do Drugs" (wear sunglasses to school)
Wednesday (10/25) - "Give Drugs the Boot" (wear Western clothes, hats, and boots)
Thursday (10/26) - "Be a Superhero, Be Drug Free" (wear a superhero shirt or costume)
Friday (10/27) - "Our School is Drug Free" (wear LCM spirit wear or school colors)
Finally, thank you so much for coming in to meet with me for parent-teacher conferences. I really enjoyed having the time to be able to sit with each of you and discuss your wonderful children!
