All Aboard with Second Grade!
December 2018
Ahoy!
Last month was full of learning. We learned all about the American Indian tribes Powhatan, Lakota, and Pueblo. We got to experience the Powhatans' respect for nature at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. We got to practice planting seeds, weaving, and grinding corn. We heard a traditional American Indian story and saw a longhouse. It had a hole in the roof so the smoke could get out when there was a fire inside!
We finished our YMCA learn to swim program with a water safety lesson. We learned how to be safe and how to help someone else in the water. We are all much better swimmers after the program!
