Hazel Harvey Highlights
November 2022
Time is Flying By!
What a great first 9 weeks we have had at the elementary school. We continue to adapt together as a team and I cannot thank everyone enough for that.
We had a wonderful fall party and the students looked amazing in their costumes. Thank you to all our families who helped send in food, make crafts, and volunteered. The students had a great time making memories that will last a life time.

2) If your student was absent on the first picture day, there will be an ordering site available so you can order online. (cavanaughphoto.com/order) Or, if you placed an order before the first picture day and didn’t realize your child would be absent, it will be honored.
3) If your student wants a retake, you must bring back the original picture packet that was ordered. Or, if you only ordered a hi-res digital file, please send a note in with your student stating that a hi-res digital file was purchased. If the packet or note is not returned, a new package will not be printed until the original is turned in.

CHECKING IN WITH THE LIBRARY
Hazel Harvey students have been having fun learning about different authors during library special. Each month we study the books and life of our Author of the Month.
In September, we learned about David Shannon. Shannon is best known for his No David! book series. We also read his biography and discussed biographies of different people.
October’s Author of the Month was Doreen Cronin. As a class, we read Cronin’s Click, Clack, Moo, Cows that Type, Click Clack,BOO!, Wiggle, Diary of a Spider/Fly, and Duck for President. We concluded our unit on Doreen Cronin by voting for our favorite colors, special classes, and cafeteria lunch options.
When visiting any public library, these authors would be great choice to check out! Thanks again for supporting our book fair! I’m excited to order new books for our library shelves with our earnings.

Adrianna Costanzo- Adrianna is a kind child whose quiet and gentle spirit shines through every day. Putting others first and being aware of those around her is a strong trait of hers. She raises her hand to participate more than any other child in the classroom and is always ready with an appropriate and thoughtful answer. She stays on task and completes her work without letting any distractions interfere. It is a given that she is a high quality student, but even moreso, she is a human who has an understanding of others and compassion towards them. It is these character traits that will take her far in life.

We are also looking for donations of bird seed for our outdoor bird feeders.
COUNSELOR'S CORNER
My name is Abby Bartholomew. I am a case manager through Anazao, and we partner with the school. This is my second year here at Hazel Harvey, and I am here everyday. I enjoy interacting and working with all of the students. My role at the school is to assist with the mental health side of things - feelings/emotions, and social skills. I meet individually with students, and hold weekly groups. If you are interested, have questions, or would like more information, you can reach out to me via email at bartholomewa@anazaocommunitypartners.org, or you can contact the school. I look forward to this year, working and getting to know everyone!
COCA-COLA GIVE PROGRAM
JUST A THOUGHT...
Make sure your child goes to bed at consistent times, and don’t have access to technology or distractions that will keep them awake after lights out. This will help them feel better and perform better at school.
