PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kia ora whanau

It is great to be back at school! We have really missed the children over the last few weeks of lockdown.

Our children have returned happy and pleased to be back at school. I have been delighted to see children return to routines so quickly; I'm really proud of them!

Thank you parents for the support you have given your children during lockdown. I acknowledge the difficult juggling act of parenting and trying to manage home learning!

Thanks also to you all for dropping off and collecting your children from outside the gates while we remain in Level 2 (apart from parents of Year 1 - please wear masks). I look forward to welcoming you all back onto site when we return to Level 1.

Have a lovely weekend.

Nga mihi,

Steve

Tree Planting for Mrs Gardiner

We have been overwhelmed with the beautiful messages written for Mrs Gardiner, who passed away a few weeks ago. I know our staff and Judie's family loved reading all the comments.

The children and staff will be holding a special ceremony on Wednesday to farewell Judie and plant a tree in her memory.

Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we are unable to invite our parents to attend.

We will include a photo of Mrs Gardiner's beautiful tree in next week's newsletter.

The food that we have been receiving has been delicious! Check out the photos below:

Digi Awards

We have received wonderful entries so far for the Digi Awards competition.

If your child has any photos or graphic designs to share, please email them to: digiawards@onekawa.school.nz

A reminder that competition rules and information can be found on our school app under the sport tab.

For those who would rather complete their entries at school, children will be given opportunities at lunchtimes over the next few weeks.

Reporting Absences and Lateness to School

Please, please, please, pretty please: let the office know if your child is going to be absent from school and give us the reason why before 9am.

If we don't hear from you we need to contact you ourselves to ensure your child is safe. This is a very time consuming exercise. Thanks!
