We have the best at HBE!
I received the email below from a parent this week...I believe this is a great example of the heart of every teacher at HBE!
Hello Mr. Richardson-
My name is Melissa Miller and my daughter, McKinley, was a Kindergartner in Mrs. Sawhney’s classroom this year.
I am writing to let you know how wonderful Mrs. Sawhney has been during this time of at-home learning. She meets with the kiddos on Zoom in small groups twice a week. The kiddos get a lot of work on their reading/writing skills during the meetings. This has been such an incredible addition for my daughter. She is engaged and ready to listen to her instruction.
In addition to that, she does class Zoom meetings 3x a week. During these meetings, she does lessons as well is fun activities for the kids. She has come up with very creative activities to keep the kids engaged and learning in different ways. My daughter looks forward to seeing her classmates as well as Mrs. Sawhney.
Moreover, she has been super responsive to questions and has been very patient with me as a parent and trying to adjust to teaching. I have been able to lean on her for tips and tricks. She has also been our biggest cheerleader through all of this. When I have expressed frustration, she has encouraged my husband and I to keep pushing through, that we were doing a great job teaching her.
We could not have asked for a better teacher for our kiddo. I am sure you already know how wonderful she is, but felt you needed to know that she had gone above and beyond, in my opinion, to continue working and seeing her students. I know this has been a tough transition for the teachers as well. She has told me so many times how much she misses her students and her actions show that.
She wasn’t only incredible during this time, but all year long. I know McKinley was challenging, but she never gave up on her. We worked as a team to allow her to have a successful year and I give all that credit to Mrs. Sawhney.
We look forward to the fall and first grade. My son, Maxwell, will also be joining Hackberry Elm as a Pre-K student. We appreciate the care the entire staff at Hackberry. We feel blessed to have our kid in a school that cares for their students so much.
