Broken Arrow Weekly Update
Looking Forward to the Week of January 9-13
Message from Mrs. Green
Over the past few days our students have spent some time collaborating and reviewing our Eagle Expectations of being Respectful, Responsible and Showing their Best Effort. Check out the pictures below to see some Expectation Showdown in action in Ms. Meyer's room, 1st graders collaborating on their math facts in Mrs. Bruening's room and 5th graders completing expectation posters that they will be sharing with younger classes!!
Thanks for taking a few moments to look over our Weekly Update to see what is coming up next at Broken Arrow!
Grade Cards are Ready to View and Have Been Mailed
Grade cards are now available for you to view in PowerSchool! Grade cards have also been mailed home to each student's primary address. With the first semester officially over and as we look ahead to the second half of the year, we want you to reflect on your child(ren)'s progress.
HERE are the directions for how to access the grade card in PowerSchool if you have set up a Guardian Access Account. If you are unable to login to your existing PowerSchool HERE are directions for how to access your account.
If you have not yet set up a parent account, you will need to contact Mrs Walthall to resend instructions. Her email is mwalthal@usd497.org

New Dismissal Procedures Beginning January 30th-Quick Facts
2. Parents will not need to do anything other than know a 3-digit number that will be assigned to their student or family.
3. Bus riders, walkers and BGC students will be dismissed as normal. However, we will begin to check them out using their number and the iDismiss software to ensure that each student dismisses from the building as intended.
4. If you pick up your student by car, you will still have two options:
Option 1- Park your vehicle in the parking lot and use the crosswalk to let a staff member know your student/family number.
Option 2- Stay in your car and go through the pickup lane. Each family will be given a car tag to show the student/family number.
5. The car loop will be continuous (if a car moves up, all other cars will move forward). Cars will not be allowed to stay stationary in the loop and drivers will not be allowed to leave their vehicle parked in the loop.
6. Students will exit the building when their number is shown or communicated.
Much more information and visuals will be coming, but I wanted to share some quick facts with you as I have had some questions about the process.
