How to Support Learning at Home
Check out the October RISE Newsletter
Each month, the RISE (Reading Initiative for Student Excellence) Team produces a newsletter to explore and promote the Science of Reading in Arkansas.
October is National Dyslexia Awareness Month and this month's newsletter is all about Dyslexia. Dyslexia is a type of learning disability that impairs a person's ability to read despite normal intelligence.
Dyslexia is not:
- a visual problem
- seeing letters or words backwards
- words moving around on the page
- a lack of intelligence
- a lack of motivation or laziness

Home Links for Bullying Prevention
The link below will take you to a folder with simple, fun activities called Home Links that will help you understand what your child is learning about bullying at school. They also give your child another chance to practice skills for handling bullying. For bullying prevention to work, everyone at school needs to be involved.
