A Message from Mrs. Lindsay
I hope your week went well! I feel like we are all settling into a routine as we continue to learn the best ways to connect virtually!
The Winchester teachers have been working hard to create lessons and activities that include important content to help prepare students for the next grade. Thank you so much for carving out time in your busy schedules to help your children stay engaged in the learning process!
We appreciate all of the support including helping children get set up for face to face meetings and completing school work. It is so helpful for the teachers providing virtual face to face instruction, if your child is situated in a place free from distractions and have their learning materials ready to go. It is awesome if your child has a desk or table to set their computer or Chromebook on. This also makes it easier for them to write if they are asked to do so. Thank you once again for helping your child get the most out of their face to face time with their teacher!
We are here to support you and your child(ren). Please let us know if you need anything!
Take care and be well,
Kelly Lindsay, Principal

As a Leader in Me Lighthouse school we are always working to understand how we can improve. Please complete the survey below as part of an annual assessment to help all members of the school community (students, parents, and the adults who work at the school) understand how we're doing. Your responses will provide us with important information to help us become even better. All of your responses are completely anonymous. The survey should take you approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Please try to respond to all items. Thank you!

COVID-19 Grading Procedures and Parent Supports NPS Families,
As we continue to move forward with new learning under the Continuity of Learning Plan, the following information will bring clarity around the question of grading during this time as well as the available technology and parent supports we have and will continue to put in place.
The NPS COVID-19 Grading Procedures, as published on April 15, 2020, are based on guidance provided in the Executive Order. We believe these grading practices provide students with the most flexibility while still ensuring that no child will be academically harmed as a result of the traditional model school closing required by law. Please contact your teacher or building principal if you have any questions about this grading procedure or need further information.
With the help of many NPS teachers, we have developed a parent learning portal that provides you with a variety of useful resources designed to support and assist you during this remote learning period. If you have any questions, or would like to submit a request for resource support, please navigate to the submit a question under the FAQ button found on the parent learning portal. We hope you find this helpful as you partner with us in this new learning process.

Grab-and-Go Breakfast and Lunch offered by Northville Public Schools
Northville Public Schools has been offering, and will continue to offer through the MDE waiver period, Food Service meals (breakfast and lunch) to all enrolled and non-enrolled students in the district. These meals, served under the Unanticipated School Closure – School Food Service Program (SFSP) program, are made available at no cost to anyone (18) and under, or up to age (26) if they receive special education services.
The meals are ‘grab-and-go’ breakfast and lunch, and are distributed from the lobby of Northville High School each Tuesday and Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until noon. At each visit on Tuesday, each student (or their parents/guardians) will receive meals for 3 days; while on Fridays, students may take both breakfast and lunch for 4 days, totalling meals provided 7 days per week. Breakfast meal components may include string cheese, fruit, grains such as a cereal bar, and drink. Lunch meal components may include deli meat sandwiches, vegetarian options such as cheese or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, and milk.

Winchester Playground is Closed
We completely understand that the Stay at Home order issued by our Governor during this challenging time is extremely difficult for you and our students, and that part of our being as humans is socializing with each other. As part of the order, Governor Whitmer has encouraged families and individuals to get outside, take walks, etc., but the order does not allow for large gatherings, or gatherings at parks and playgrounds, which includes on our school playgrounds.
In accordance with the Governor’s Stay Safe. Stay Home. Executive Order, and by Order of the Oakland County Health Division, Northville Public Schools has closed all of our school playgrounds and fields, including ALL play structures. Student safety and well being is at the forefront of all we do for our students both at Silver Springs and across Northville Public Schools. We are asking you to do everything you can to slow the spread. We appreciate your help in keeping each other safe and healthy.
