Our students at Linden are growing up with the power of digital media and technology to explore, connect, create, and learn in new ways. With this power, our children have great opportunities, but they also face challenges and dilemmas.
The teachers and Staff at Linden are working to address issues such as online safety and cyberbullying. This resource is being offered to help families support their children if they encounter unkind online behavior or cyberbullying.
Please click Help Kids Fight Cyberbullying and Other Mean Online Behavior to access this very helpful parent resource!
3rd Grade Engineers Engage in STEM Activity!
During QUEST, 3rd graders participated in an engineer activity inspired by Katherine Johnson. The projects is called, "Counting on Katherine - Engineering a Space Capsule. As part of this hands-on experience, the students also had the opportunity to listen to the story, Counting on Katherine - How Katherine Johnson Saved Apollo 13.

February is Black History Month
There are many wonderful lessons and activities going on this month at Linden to celebrate Black History Month. We would like to share that one of our initiatives is to read books recommended by the Anti-Defamation League for Black History Month and engage our students in discussions.
Below you will find a link to 12 Exceptional Kid Lit Books to Read for Black History Month. Each book comes with a family discussion guide which can help you engage your children in critical conversations at home.
K-6 teachers will choose among the first 8 books on this list to read and engage their class.
Any 5th grade students who want to extend their learning can read New Kid independently and join a book club discussion at Linden at the end of the month.
Similarly, 6th graders can read Hurricane Child independently and have the same opportunity.
Ask your teacher which books they'll be reading to their class!
Important Reminders:
- Please wear your mask when on school property.
- Please SLOW DOWN when driving through the school property.
- Please DO NOT drive through the bus lane during arrival or dismissal time.
- Please STAY OFF your cell phone.
- While in car rider line, please be patience- do not back up, cut out of line, or beep, our staff and students are precious to us.
Student Absences
In-Person Absences: Students will be marked absent if they are not in school that day. If the student should be physically present but is participating virtually due to COVID related concerns, the teacher will mark the attendance as "Participating Virtually". This will give the student credit for attendance.
Online Absences: If a student does not attend class, the student will be marked absent until we receive the communication from parents. Note: If a student logs-in initially, but leaves the call or does not engage, the comment "Virtually Cut" will be added to the comments section.
Appointments: If a student has to leave for an appointment, please email their teacher and 'cc Cyndi Faville as well.
Please contact Cindy Faville in the Linden Main office at 267-893-4402 or email at cfaville@cbsd.org with any questions.
The winter is in full force. It gets dark early and it is cold outside. What can families do during this time? Click Counselor's Corner for some suggestions.
Questions about COVID-19?
As the COVID cases rise in the community, the Central Bucks Nurses are working hard to keep everyone healthy and safe. Our school nurse, Mrs. Tina Boyer, is here to help! If you have questions, feel free to email or call her. She can help with:
- Determine if your child(ren) is a close contact.
- Explain the isolation and quarantine process.
- Provide guidance for symptoms and management.
- And more! .... just ask.
Mrs. Tina Boyer's email address is tboyer@cbsd.org, or call the Linden main office at 267-893-4401 to be connected to the Health Room.

Family Travel Update
If your child(ren) will be traveling this upcoming Spring season, please complete a Request for Approved Absence Form. Out of an abundance of caution, students who travel must refrain from in-person instruction.
In compliance with the district's Health and Safety Plan, students who travel will not be able to return for a period of 10 days without testing, or after 7 days with a negative test on or after day 5. Any questions about this procedure can be directed to Cindy Faville in the Linden Office, at cfaville@cbsd.org.
Live-Streaming
Virtual instruction is available for any student who is absent more than 2 days for COVID related causes, such as illness or travel.
Once a teacher is notified, we will make arrangements including a materials pick-up at school. Live streaming will begin on day 3 of the absence, or earlier if feasible. This instruction may vary slightly depending upon the academic needs and age of the student. Note: knowing that the majority of students in the class are in-person, there will be times when the teacher is not in camera view.
ATTENTION ALL 6TH GRADERS!

Please submit both by March 12th to Jill Walton at jillhwalton@yahoo.com.
