Vietnam war and its global impact
Vietnam war (1955-1975) The United States helped South Vietnam in a fight against North Vietnam. North Vietnam communist government tried to take over South Vietnam and the United States was against communism so they help South Vietnam. One impact of the war was that the United States reduced the voting age to 18. Another impact was that It also inspired Congress to attack the "imperial" presidency through the War Powers Act, restricting a president's ability to send American forces into combat without explicit Congressional approval. A third impact of the war was that the United States economy was hurt. Nobody wanted to pay for the war so the economy was hurt badly.
