Math
In math we will be moving through mod 2 lesson 8.
Lesson 4 is efficiently adding integers
Lesson 5 is understanding subtraction of integers and other rational numbers
Lesson 6 covers the distance between two rational numbers
Lesson 7 is addition and subtraction of rational numbers
Lesson 8 is applying the properties of operations to add and subtract rational numbers
This is subject to change and there will be a quiz after lesson 9
All of the lessons notes will be added to schoology as we finish each lesson. If you or your student have any questions please email me at brittneylittrel@usd475.org and I will do my best to answer questions in a timely manner, also if your student is confused with one problem have them circle it and ask about it in class the next day. Language Arts
We will be writing a MEAL paragraph connecting “Monsters” to the unit essential question, reviewing narrative point of view, and completing an “incident report” project to put narrative point of view knowledge into practice.
If you have not turned in your Outsiders Books Please do so.
Science
Monday to Wednesday- Endangered Species Project
Thursday- Water Pollution
Friday- Air Pollution
Endangered Species Project - Students pick one from a list an endangered species, they will identify the biome where their endangered species live. Students will identify the reasons for the endangerment and what is done to help the species come back to a reasonable population size. Students will make a PowerPoint as an output of this project including presenting it to class.
Chapter 4 - Air and Water Pollution- In this unit students will explore water and air pollution, what causes it, ways it can be reduced and as students figure out how they can reduce air and water pollution.
World Geography
Tuesday-Friday: Learning about the problems in the Amazon Rainforest, the various stakeholders there, and having a Socratic Seminar about who has the "right" to use the rainforest.
Below are videos that can only be accessed if you have the link. Students On Friday learned about the Caribbean through learning about the music there and how it has influences other genres of music.
