April 2018 Edition
Earth Day 2018
April 26th is National Poem-In-Your-Pocket Day
Every April, on Poem in Your Pocket Day, people celebrate by selecting a poem, carrying it with them, and sharing it with others throughout the day at schools, bookstores, libraries, parks, workplaces, and on Twitter using the hashtag #pocketpoem.
Poem in Your Pocket Day 2018 will be held on April 26th.
Why not print the template below and have your students write or copy a poem for homework the night before. Then students can spend the day asking one another to share their pocket poems.
Other ideas can be found below.
Happy Poetry Month!

Get involved - get your students involved! Choose a book about a character that isn’t so much like you, or a topic you don’t know much about, or a book in a format you don’t normally read. Extend your reading reach!
