School-Wide Drive for Flood Support
Donations Needed
The recent floods have really hit local schools quite hard. One district, in Craig, Missouri, has experienced flooding in the school and has been forced to relocate to a local church to continue providing education to students for (likely) the remainder of the year.
One of our own PAC moms, Brittany Schlapia, teaches at this school. Brittany has been a big supporter of Horace Mann this year and headed up our Pizza Ranch fundraiser bringing in over $300 to support activities at Horace Mann, like transportation to field trips, food for our annual open house, classroom treats, and several other PAC initiatives.
The Parent Advisory Council and Horace Mann Staff would like to join in an effort to support the teachers and students in Craig, Missouri. While it is amazing for the local church to offer up space for classes, there are some simple donations which can enhance the school's situation. We would appreciate any donations you can share to help this school family. You can drop off donations at the front desk or in the school office. Please bring in items this week and next week.
Here are some requested items:
- bottled water (small sizes preferred)
- Outdoor recess equipment
- Games and quiet activities to do indoors
- construction paper
- Prang Watercolors
- Black and White acrylic paint
Some other items to consider:
- Kleenex
- hand sanitizer
- Clorox wipes
- Paper towels
- school supplies
Thank you for considering supporting this event of service to support another school family in need. We appreciate your help in this worthy effort!
