Did your child talk about their Kindness in Chalk experience?
On Thursday, October 13 our students worked cooperatively with a child from another grade level to create messages of kindness on the playground blacktop. Ask them about the student they worked with and the message they created on the playground.

What was your experience with the Family Fun Night?
What is SOAR?
At Franklin we work hard to teach students behavior expectations for all areas of our school so they can be successful in and out of the classroom. SOAR gives us common language we use with all students to help them make safe, responsible, respectful choices and to do their best at Franklin. Each area of the school has behavior expectations in the four SOAR categories and throughout the year students watch videos on what SOARing looks like, have discussions with their class on how to SOAR and are celebrated for making Franklin a great place to learn! Ask your student if they SOARed today!
What does an intervention teacher do?
The intervention teachers at Franklin have many roles. At the core of an intervention teacher's job is working with students, often in small groups, who may need additional support or reteaching in academic areas, such as reading or math. Intervention teachers provide students with instruction that helps reinforce what students are learning in the classroom. They collaborate on a daily basis with classroom teachers and other educational professionals to determine areas of student need and help respond to those needs appropriately. They plan and teach numerous lessons each day, conduct assessments, examine data, and continually monitor student progress. In short, intervention teachers love to help students succeed!
Franklin's intervention teachers are:
Mrs. Weber, Mrs. Baer, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Harper, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Barnett
What are students learning with our School Counselor this month?
In October, our counseling lessons with Mrs. Berg have been focused on RESPECT! We are exploring ways we are different and the same and finding connections with each other so we can appreciate and understand our classmates better. Here is a photo from our kindergarten rainbow project! Just like a rainbow needs all the colors, we need each and every one of our kindergarteners to make our class complete!
What do teachers do during 2 Hour Late start days?
How have volunteers helped Franklin?
We are very fortunate to have local volunteers assist us and are thankful for the many roles they play at Franklin.
Thank You to the students from South Central College for helping with our hearing and vision screenings.
Thank You to our volunteers at the clothing table during Franklin's Family Fun Night.
Thank You to those of you who are volunteering to assist with the Fall Fundraiser wrap-up on the 24th.
These events are successful because of our volunteers! You are so much appreciated!
