This Week
Science- Students spent the week reviewing saturated solutions and solubility. We were able to put our knowledge of saturated solutions to work and make silly putty. We will be having a special guest to end the week with a presentation on Dental Health Month.
Math 6- We just finished one of the more difficult tests in our units of study so far. They’ll be taking it home to sign and return to school after the break. Our material is getting more challenging, and the students may need to practice a little more to master the more difficult concepts. Checking over work, and reading directions carefully also comes into play a little more. Our next unit of study is geometry.
Social Studies: The kids performed their Colony Raps (about Roanoke, Jamestown, or Plymouth) which were great! We’ve begun learning about England’s expansion to 13 colonies and we’ll first study the three regions: New England Colonies, Middle Colonies and Southern Colonies.
Math 5: Mr. Fitz was our guest teacher and did a fabulous introduction to fractions and our current focus of Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions. We will continue to learn about this and decimals after the break.
