SPRING FLING IS HERE
SPRING FLING is at last here. The big event is Sunday, April 22nd from 2-5 PM. For a quick link to all that will happen on Sunday go to the SPRING FLING FLIER. Please read the Sunday Message for more details on the event. Remember that ALL staff are expected to attend the event. Please see Mrs. Fricke or Mr. Biles if you have a special reason that you cannot attend.
Thanks to all that have signed up for volunteering for the many events as well as the special events (dunking booth, Sumo Wrestling). There is still room to sign up in the Sumo Wrestling Contest. Just think what it will be like to have SUMO WRESTLING CHAMPION on your Wall of Fame. :) Remember, also that there is a class incentive for the Sumo Wrestling Suits. ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 16-18, 2018
PTA MEETING:
The April PTA Meeting is Tuesday, April 17th at 8:15 in the Media Center. Please send you team rep.
STAFF MEETING: Staff Meeting this Thursday, April 19th at 7:45.
END OF YEAR PDP and SUMMARY CONFERENCE INFORMATION - Thanks to all that have already met the deadline for PDPs and have sent in the Standards I-V artifacts sheet. The following Deadlines are necessary due to County Deadlines, so please do what is needed now to plan ahead:
- End of Year PDPs are DUE for ALL TEACHERS (Track IV plan accordingly) on Monday, April 2nd, 2018
- The Summative Artifact Information for Standards I-V Data Collection Sheet (The artifacts sheet you submit before summary conferences) is due on Monday April 2, 2018 for Beginning Teachers and (**new**) Friday, April 6, 2018 for Continuing Teachers. We now have an earlier deadline due to contracts/regulations, so the sooner the better. Please email lfricke@wcpss.net with your summative information as soon as you can do so. Thanks to all that have already submitted this information.
APRIL BOARD ADVISORY COMMITTEE (BAC)-MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Pleasant Union will be hosting the April 16th BAC. The business portion of the meeting starts at 6:00. Special guest is temporary Superintendent, Del Burns.
CULTURAL ARTS ASSEMBLY: There will be a Cultural Arts Assembly on Thursday, April 19th for Tracks 1, 2, and 4- All Grades.
The group coming is known as "The Bacchanal Steel Band.” Please report to the gym at the following times:
Assembly from 9:30-10:20:
9:25 Kindergarten, 9:27 1st grade, 9:29 2nd grade and CCK
Assembly from 10:30-11:20:
10:25 3rd grade, 10:27 4th grade, 10:29 5th grade
Specials: 4th, 5th and CCK will NOT have specials. SPECIALISTS WILL SUPERVISE DURING THE ASSEMBLY from 10:30-11:20. K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd WILL have specials. TEACHERS SHOULD STAY AND SUPERVISE DURING THE ASSEMBLY. Whitley and McNeely will have specials from 11:20-11:40.

DUTIES FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 16-18, 2018 Track 4 OUT--An additional schedule for Thursday & Friday will be emailed to you by Mrs. Fricke early this week.
AM Hallway: Shipley/Blocker (Help greet parents/students, check with Ms. Person to see what is needed at the visitor sign-in tables/help with Breakfast traffic)
AM Carpool: Narvaez (Help Safety Patrol, call for more help if needed, monitor carpool lane)
AM Breakfast: Johnson (Work with students regarding lunch numbers, encourage students to eat and get directly to class.)
AM Bus: Crum (See office if you are unable to help as this is an extra duty. Write down arrival times of buses. Work with Fricke to disembark students, trouble-shoot issues.)
Lunch Duty: Fitzgerald, Johnson, Crum**, Newman, McEwen, Brown, Narvaez
(Start the track in period with consistent behavior expectations. STUDENTS CAN BRING A BOOK TO READ, BUT NOT OTHER OBJECTS (RUBIC'S CUBE, ETC...)
Work with one another to use the "warning" behavior system, train students to pick up trash/sweep, and inform teachers of issues. Do not allow students to flip bottles/get up without permission. Do not hesitate to move a student to a separate seat or to inform the office of repeated issues. Update the seating charts in the notebook as needed. The office will contact you (support staff) if necessary for coverage. THANK YOU FOR DOING LUNCH DUTY.
PM Hallway: Andrews (Check all students for tags in the bus line. If a student does not have a tag, inform Fricke and Ms. Britt ASAP. )
PM Carpool: McEwen, Brown(outside), Perry/Cooper, Blocker/Shipley (inside), Stern (call car numbers.)(Specialists fill in- contact office is there is a change and to let us know who is covering) (Call carpool numbers. If a parent doesn't have a carpool tag, PLEASE INFORM THE PARENT that they should get one from the office.
PM Bus: Potter (Call one bus at a time. Write down arrival times. CHECK FOR BUS TAGS ON EACH CHILD'S BOOK BAG. Work with Britt and Barber to trouble-shoot, solve issues. IF YOU HAVE CONFERENCES ETC... LET THE OFFICE KNOW ON MONDAY MORNING.)
