Each year, 900 to 1,000 students in grades 6th through 12th from Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware, make new discoveries that could change their lives forever as they participate in the Delaware Valley Science Fairs (DVSF). Nearly $6 million in scholarship and prize money is awarded to students winners. DVSF takes top high-school winners to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) competition in May to compete for more than $4 million in scholarships and awards. Top middle-school winners go on to the Broadcom MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology, and Engineering for Rising Stars) national competition.

Delran STEM Ecosystem Alliance

Since 2017, Delran STEM Ecosystem Alliance is one of 17 regional Ecosystems added to the national initiative, which now encompasses 68 communities in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Kenya. The ecosystem’s priorities include implementing ideas and best practices for innovative learning that will benefit students’ individual development and prepare them for the demands of the 21st century workforce. The Delran STEM Ecosystem Alliance is working with partners to create a cradle to career pipeline in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) to ensure the next generation workforce is equipped to fill the talent gap in areas of healthcare, engineering, robotics and the industrial field.

With programs like the Delran Cubs STEAM Up Summer Camp, STEAM Academy and the soon to open, Delran Innovation & Fabrication Lab, students K-12 in Delran and throughout South Jersey are exposed to a collaborative approach to engaging them in STEM. The mission of "STEM for ALL" includes a targeted approach to connecting with underserved families and students, to offer quality programming.
