SIX FLAGS - Read to Succeed
Horizon is participating in an exciting program that encourages our students to read for fun. Read to succeed is a free program sponsored by Six Flags Theme Parks. Every student who completes six hours of recreational reading before the school's deadline noted on the attached form is eligible for a free admission ticket valid at one participating Six Flags Theme Park. Students will develop a greater appreciation for books when they see that you think reading is important too. You are sure to have fun as you investigate the world of reading together.

Important Parent Information
Parent Pick-up:
Please send a note to school with your child in the morning or an email to the teacher and the front office before school starts so the teacher and the office are aware of the planned parent pick-up. We understand that sometimes something may come up and you will need to pick up your child. If this happens, please call the front office at 262-695-5051. Please keep in mind that if you choose to send the teacher an email, they may not see it till the end of the day when the children have already left for the day. (THIS IS FOR STUDENTS THAT WILL BE GOING HOME A DIFFERENT WAY THAN THEY ARE USED TO. IF YOUR CHILD IS ALWAYS PARENT PICK-UP, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEND A NOTE.)
All students must be picked up in the front office; we will not let a student leave the building without a parent/guardian present. If someone other than a parent will be picking up, please send a note with your child stating who will be picking the child up.
Leaving Early:
Please send a note to school with your child to give to their teacher anytime you are planning to pick them up EARLY from school. We understand that sometimes things come up and we can work around that but this information is helpful to the teacher so they can be prepared for a student that is leaving early.
Attendance:
If your child needs to miss school, please call Ms. Sengstock before 8:35am at 262-695-5048. Please leave a detailed message stating your child's full name, teacher's name, and the reason for the absence. Ms. Sengstock will inform your child's teacher for you. All homework requests must be made by emailing your child's teacher before the start of the school day. The teacher will respond and let you know if there is homework in the front office to be picked up.
Vacations:
Please note the new process for family vacations. If you are planning on taking a student out of school for a family vacation. Please be sure to ask your child's teacher or the front office for a "PARENT APPROVED ABSENCE FORM". Fill the form out and return it to school with your child. Please feel free to contact the office with any questions regarding the new form.
