Elementary Chapel

Speaker: Virgil Clotfelter, Associate Minister at Ogilville Christian Church

Topic: Will it Float?

Scripture: 2 Kings 6:1-7

1. God deserves our best. He doesn't expect you to do any better than your best but He does expect your best.

2. God knows everything that happens. He knows when things are good for you and he knows when things are not so good for you. He knows everything about you.

3. God uses people. He used the prophet Elisha to bring back the axhead.

Servanthood is when you decide to let God do work through you.

4. God cares! The man with the axhead would now have a tarnished reputation for losing something that was borrowed. God cared about him and his concerns.

Jr & Sr High Chapel

Speaker: Andy McCracken, Pastor at Reformed Presbyterian Church

Topic: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego - What does trusting God look like today?

Scripture: Psalm 2 and Daniel 3

Hebrew name: Hananiah = (חֲנַנְיָה‬ Ḥănanyāh), "Yah is gracious"

Chaldean name: Shadrach = possibly derived from Shudur Aku "Command of Aku (the moon god)"

Hebrew name: Mishael = (מִישָׁאֵל‬ Mîšā’êl), "Who is what El is?"

Chaldean name: Meshach = probably a variation of Mi-sha-aku, meaning "Who is as Aku is?"

Hebrew name: Azariah = (עֲזַרְיָה‬ Ǎzaryāh), "Yah has helped"

Chaldean name: Abednego = "Slave of the god Nebo/Nabu"

King Nebuchadnezzar took God out of their names and replaced with false gods.

God invites us to see that He's a gracious savior. He invites us to experience his refuge and help.
