Summer 2013 PLS Hotel Information
•Please go ahead and book your room at the Foundry Park Inn
–Special rate expires on May 24th
•PLS dates: Thursday, June 20th - Friday, June 21st
•Rate/Night: $91.00
Roster Verification
•It’s that time again…please check rosters against gradebook to make sure that there are not any discrepancies
•If teachers do find a discrepancy they should contact the DC
–Check date of withdrawal request
–Takes ~ 24 hours for withdrawals to be processed and students to be removed from d2l
Final Exam Information
•Check dates to make sure that exams are properly date restricted
–Begin at 12:01 am on May 8
–End at 11:59 pm on May 9
–Also make sure that dates are set for 2013 and not 2012
*If you teach an EOCT course review your roster to make sure you don’t have student who are taking a final exam instead.
*If you do contact your DC to ensure that a final exam is added to your course.
* Remind students that no work can be submitted after the final exam. All work from the last deadline should be submitted prior to the EOCT/Final exam.
* Remind students that we do not grade final exams early.
* Check students to ensure they are all in groups. There have been several situations this semester where zeros have been entered late in the semester because a student was not showing up within a group.
Grading Videos
•Instructional Videos are located in the Teacher Forum.
–Select Teaching
–Under “Semester Wrap Up” you will find 4 videos labeled Step 1 – Step 4
–You can pause these videos as you go to ensure accurate grade reporting.
•Please use these videos during the grade reporting process
End of Semester Surveys
•Dr. Joe Cozart will be trying out a new format for end of semester surveys
•They will be sent to students and parents via email
Summer Courses
Summer school is approaching quickly. Here are dates to remember for the summer sessions:
* June 6th ~ 6 week session starts
* June 10th ~ 5 week session starts
Make Up Work Policy
Teachers can close dropboxes, quizzes, and discussions to help prevent students from trying to turn in old work.
