Principal's Point
From nursery rhymes in Pre-Kindergarten to working with fractions in 5th grade, this semester is off to a fast start! In just a few short weeks scholars will have their February break and a few weeks after we return scholars will go on Spring break. As teachers continue to work with scholars to close learning gaps created by last year's school closures, we ask that you do a few things at home to help:
1. Read with your kids (or have them read to you) for 20-30 minutes every day.
2. Use trips to the grocery store, restaurants, etc., to help reinforce skills learned at school (recognizing colors, counting, letter identification, reading, addition/subtraction, and multiplication/division).
3. Check younger scholars' backpacks daily for conduct charts and other information from teachers.
4. Reach out to teachers with questions about classwork or homework, or to get information about websites that support learning.
5. Make sure scholars get a good night's sleep.
Your partnership in our scholars' learning is so important! Thank you for helping us get scholars to the highest peaks of learning. Have a great week!
Assistant Principal's Piece
Attendance counts! Regular school attendance, beginning in PreK, puts scholars on track for reading at grade-level in third grade, a critical benchmark in a child's educational career. Missing 18 days of school (or 10% of the school year) negatively impacts scholars' academic performance and reduces their chance at future academic success. Make regular school attendance, both on-campus and online, a priority for your scholar!

Parents are the first line of defense when it comes to the health of their children and should keep scholars home if they are feeling sick, have tested positive for Covid-19, or have had close contact with someone who has tested positive. Please remember that parents are responsible for screening all scholars before coming to school each day. Symptoms include:
- Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit

- Fatigue
- Headache
- Chills
- Sore throat
