- 677 new novels, reference books, e-books, and audiobooks were added to the library!
- The Dollar General Literacy Foundation funded implementation of the Pennsylvania Reader's Choice Award for the 2016-2017 school year! 113 students read from the list of 15 nominated titles and voted for their favorite in March! And the 2017 winner is:
- This school year we welcomed NoodleTools to Ridley High School! With NoodleTools, students can take notes, organize outlines, create original writing pieces, and cite sources online. Every student and teacher now has access to NoodleTools!
- On November 17, Dianne Salerni (author of The Caged Graves) stopped by Ridley High School to join the Emerald Academy Book Club for a Lunch with a Local Author!
- Popular POWER Library database SIRS Discoverer is now integrated with Google Apps for Education! Articles may be saved to teacher and student Google Drive accounts, under a Proquest SIRS Discoverer folder, with just a couple of clicks.
- On February 3, 2017, Jeff Giles visited Ridley High School to discuss his novel, The Edge of Everything, with 150+ students in the Board Room.
- The Ridley High School Library Blog was viewed about 850 times in 2016. Please subscribe to stay up to date on new books, author events, tech tips, and all the library news worth checking out!
- Ms. Pickett has been Blogging for Books, receiving free books for the library from Penguin Random House in exchange for an honest review on the library blog!
- This spring, our friends at Children’s Book World in Haverford delivered a Summer Reading Book Fair right to our readers! Required and recommended summer reading titles were on display and available for sale in the library, May 22 - June 6, at a 20% discount off the cover price.
Our DIGITAL LENDING LIBRARY continues to grow! Students and staff members can browse, sample, and borrow from our collection of 250+ eBooks and audiobooks. Some of the titles we've recently added to our OverDrive collection include:

The internet makes doing research easier - easier to do well and easier to do poorly. Increasing amounts of information demand students acquire the skills to select, evaluate, and use information appropriately and effectively. Helping students to acquire these skills is the foundation for everything that happens in the Ridley High School Library!
