Parent Coaching Groups
Therapeutic Health Services Integrated Cognitive Therapies Program (ICTP) is planning their next round of Parent Coaching Groups.
This free 4-week workshop is open to caregivers of youth with mental health and substance use concerns. Families can expect to learn about the developing brain and why we need a different set of strategies when our teens are experiencing mental health challenges. We will also talk about skills to help develop healthy household rules, reduce conflict, build relationships, and maintain safety in the home.
Parents who are interested in this opportunity should fill out this form so that classes will be scheduled at convenient times for families.

Open house at Stanwood High School and Church Creek Campus Saturday, Dec. 11
With the pandemic, many in our community have not had the opportunity to see inside the new Stanwood High School and the Church Creek Campus, home to Lincoln Hill High School, Lincoln Academy and Saratoga School. We are so incredibly grateful to our community for its support of the 2017 bond that funded the construction of both campuses.
Both sites will hold an open house on Saturday, Dec. 11:
Stanwood HS from 10 a.m. to 12 noon
Church Creek from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Following a brief opening ceremony at each campus, both buildings will be open for self-guided tours. Please join us and tour these new buildings.

Family Communication
November 19, 2021
Hello Families,
Thank you for your patience earlier this week when we closed schools due to downed power lines and closed roads. We know that bus disruptions and school closures can cause stress for students and families. We communicate about these types of events in a variety of ways. You can look for information on school delays and closures on our website at stanwood,wednet.edu and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
We Want You to Get Our Calls!
To ensure that you receive our calls about important school information, please help us by keeping your emergency contact information current in Skyward Family Access.
Skyward Family Access Login Instructions - English
Skyward Family Access Login Instructions - Spanish
Your contact information, including your phone numbers and email addresses, are synched with the School Messenger notification system we use to send out emails and phone calls in emergency situations.
Another great way to receive notifications is to sign up for FlashAlert. This is the system that media uses to create the “crawl” on TV stations for school districts in the region. Visit https://www.flashalert.net/id/StanwoodSD to receive notifications of closures or late starts. The FlashAlert app is available free for iPhone or Android mobile devices.

Reminder, please join us in creating a District strategic plan!
The strategic plan acts as a roadmap for our school system. Its primary aim is to create a shared vision, common goals, and unified direction for our district’s educational efforts. Families are asked to please complete a brief survey about you and your child’s experience in the Stanwood-Camano School District. The survey link is HERE. Please watch a brief video from me describing the strategic planning process.
Community members are invited to serve as members of the five planning teams. The teams will include students, parents, community representatives, teachers, administrators, and staff. If you are interested in joining one of the strategic planning teams, please complete a registration form here.
Have a great weekend,
Deborah Rumbaugh, Ed.D.
