In Reading, we are working on main idea and detail and making inferences. Main idea is the main thing about the story. Making inferences is when you are putting all the pieces together or the knowledge you know like background knowledge, clues in the text. These are the things we are working on.
In Science we are working on sound waves and energy waves. We did a cool sound wave experiment. Our experiment was really cool, we tied a string to a spoon, we put our fingers in our ears and banged the spoon against our desks. When we banged the sound on our desks it sounded like a bell.
In math, we are learning about rounding numbers and comparing numbers. We learned how to multiply. We learned big numbers.
After the Holidays...
In Math, we will begin Unit 6 which introduces strategies for division and using a protractor to measure angles.
In Science, we will be finishing our 2nd design challenge: Building a Solar Cooker.
