Elementary Distance Learning Update

5.17.20

Welcome to Week 8 of Distance Learning!

We are heading in to the last two weeks of distance learning! We are PROUD of each and every one of you-students, parents, and caregivers alike! Thank you for your continued effort to support distance learning at home. Our last day of distance learning will be May 29th. Students will still have teacher created expectations on June 1st & 2nd, but no new learning will take place on these two days. Teachers and families will use these two days in various capacities, such as catching up on any missing assignments or holding student-teacher meetings/conferences. Attendance will still be taken on these two days. Your teachers will communicate with you as these days near.

When will our Device-Drop off/Student Item Exchange Take Place? (June 3rd, 4th, & 5th)

Staff have almost completed bagging and tagging belongings for students in an effort to be prepared for our Student Item Exchange on June 3rd, 4th, & 5th (please arrive anytime from 7:30am-6:00pm on your assigned day). Families will drive up to the elementary entrance to drop off/collect your items. We ask that all parents, students, and visitors remain in their vehicle at all times. We will have volunteers helping to collect and deliver supplies to your car. While we are so excited to see all of our Elementary Tigers, we won't be able to visit for long in order to make this process go smoothly as possible for everyone. If you have multiple children, you will be able to pick up all materials for each child on your given day. During these days, (see schedule below) families will bring your child's school-issued device and charger (ipad or chromebook) and any other school items to return. Families will also have the opportunity to pick up any items that they may have left in their child's desk or locker. These items will be delivered to your car. Teachers will be communicating with families to remind you what materials/items that will need to be returned.

HOW WILL WE HANDLE SCHOOL ISSUED DEVICES THAT NEED REPAIRS?

Families will complete THIS FORM . (This form is also linked on our school website under the Distance Learning tab "Technology") Once this form is completed, the information will be shared with the proper staff member who will attempt to repair the school issued device (ipad or chromebook) This service will run through our four lunch stops from 11:00-1:00. Families will drop off the device with the para in charge at that time at one of the four lunch stops, sign necessary paperwork and they will bring it back to school for our technology department to take a look at. The drop off and return days will be Mondays and Thursdays. This service is subject to change as we move through our distance learning model.
