Honoring One Of Our Own
Dear Families,
I am writing to you to share with you something meaningful that we are doing to honor Mrs. Juneau’s son, Jacob. Mrs. Juneau is a para-professional that helps Ixonia children learn each day. She keeps them safe at recess and helps them with their lunch. Last year, her son, at age 20, passed away after a sudden illness.
Jacob was an OASD graduate. He was always a playful, kind boy who was passionate about music.
In honor of his short life, and because his mother Carol Juneau is a staff member at Ixonia Elementary, we would like to create something to honor Jacob's spirit.
We have settled on an idea that addresses meaning and permanence on our new playground. With your help, we hope to provide outdoor musical equipment in Jacob’s memory alongside our playground.
The musical space will give students the opportunity to be creative outdoors. Several instrumental pieces have been chosen to place in this musical space.
We invite you to participate in honoring Jacob by supporting this project and donating if possible, to invest in some of the following equipment:
Freestanding, double player, metal chimes: $3,899.00
Cabasas: $859.00
Bongo Drums:$1409.00
Commemorative plaque:$100.00
Our goal is $4000.00
Staff, family, friends of Jacob, community members are participating in the memorial. We will all think of Jacob when we hear the banging and clanging, and hopefully something musical, from those instruments on the playground.
Any donation, no matter how small, made to this project will go directly to the specific pieces outlined above, and if we exceed our goal it will only allow us to choose superior equipment, more pieces, and even give to our music department. All donations are tax deductible.
Ways to donate before June 1st:
1.Check to Ixonia PTO and mailed to:
