CENTRAL SCOOP
A Newsletter for Central Elementary School Staff
For the Week of March 15 through March 21, 2015
Announcements
Congratulations to Braden Mills, our school's Value Student of the Month for February!
Congratulations to Kathy Crum and Michelle Strange for being chosen as Central's 2015 Optimist Club Partners in Education Award Winners! These ladies will be honored at a dinner in April for their outstanding and dedicated service to our youth. Everyone at Central does an exceptional job in meeting the needs of our students, so it was difficult to choose only two individuals for this award. Congratulations Ladies!
Grades - Please have all grades final and in PowerSchool no later than 8 a.m. on Monday, March 16th. Shonda will print cards that day and have them in your box by the end of the day. Tuesday will be for corrections/reprints for cards to go home on Wednesday, the 18th. If you have any questions, please let Shonda know! Important things to remember:
1.) When you are finished with the grades in a class, please click the gray button that says Q3 in Progress in EACH class, this indicates to me that grades are final for that class and I can run a report telling me who might not be finished.
2.) These reminders are from Mary Jordan in regard to PowerSchool. Remember to refresh your grade book often. Go to file>Refresh Class Info.
3.) Also, everyone should RECALCULATE FINAL SCORES>Tools>Recalculate Final Scores. These two processes should be performed as you are working in your grade book.
Acuity Readiness III ELA and Math testing for grades 3 through 5 starts on Monday, March 16th. To view the schedule click HERE.
The Technology Department is excited to announce that we are moving to a new Technology Help Desk. We believe the new help desk will improve communication on open help desk tickets. Once you have created a ticket you will receive emails about your ticket similar to the old help desk. The primary difference is that you can reply directly to these emails if you have additional information to add to a ticket or need to answer questions about your ticket. You will no longer need to log back into the help desk to provide additional information or answer questions (it is still an option but not necessary). If you currently have an open ticket on the help desk, the technology department will create one in the new system for you.
https://plainfield.sherpadesk.com/ Please take a few minutes to update your bookmarks for the new help desk. The link on the corporation website Technology Services Page has been updated. At the log in screen you will use the same username and password you use to log into your computer. Tracy Ballinger has put together a video tutorial on creating tickets in the new system.
Reminder from the Nurse - If you haven’t turned in your Immunization record yet, please do as soon as you can. Remember you must have 2 MMR vaccines, a positive titer, or a birth date before 1957 to be considered immune from measles. If you have any questions let Laura know.
IDOE Request - In an effort to support the development and implementation of evaluations, the Indiana Department of Education is requesting teacher feedback to determine areas of need for professional learning opportunities. The survey will remain open until March 27, 2015. SurveyLink: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/50407110990952
