MILESTONES RESOURCES FOR PARENTS
Parents,
The following items are not meant for you to share with your children-- they are already getting these resources and more from their teachers. This is meant to serve as a guide for you as we travel through Milestones testing together. That way, you know what your child(ren) will be asked to do in April. We are preparing our children as much as possible through higher order thinking, problem-solving activities, and through making sure that our assessments are aligned with Milestones. Our goal is to make sure that children are comfortable with the format of the tests, and will shine! If you have any questions about Milestones, feel free to call me anytime at school!

MEDIA CENTER NEWS
News from the Media Center - February 2017
Thank you to everyone who visited our last book fair. It was a HUGE success, giving us record sales for this time of year. We earned a cash profit of approximately $4000 and over $2000 in Scholastic Dollars for books and materials!! Incredible!
I would like to remind everyone who has not purchased a yearbook for this school year that they will be on sale through April 17th. If you would like to have your child's yearbook personalized, the last day for that is February 24th. The cost of the yearbooks is $30. Ordering is easy: you can order online at jostens.com or using the order form found on the site or our
Brooks Elementary website http://www.cowetaschools.org/brooks/
Birthday Book Club members will be recognized in March. There is still time for students to join. BBC forms can be downloaded from the Brooks website under the media center tab.
The week after we return from our winter break is Read Across America in honor of the author the late Dr. Seuss. I would like to have volunteers come in and read to classes on Friday March 3rd, which is his actual birthday. If you are interested in reading to a class or two, please let me know.
Also, after the break, Six Flags Reading forms are due on February 28th.
Thank you for your continued support of Brooks Media Program.

A big "Thank You" to everyone who helped our students at Christmas by purchasing gifts that were needed for the Angel Tree. The response from everyone was overwhelming......we truly have many Angels among us who care deeply about all of our Brooks Broncos.
Thank you,
