District Happenings
The Osage Community School Board is naming the new private roadway in front of the new addition. The School Board has allowed students to use their creativity and come up with their own names. After collecting suggestions from the student body and allowing them to vote on their favorites, we would like some opinions from non-students on their favorites. Please feel free to fill out the attached form.
Thank you,
Logan Martin

8th Grade Discover Day
Our 8th graders have the opportunity to participate in NIACC’s Explore Day. This is a partnership created to expose students to future careers based on passions and interests. Mark Mohl, NIACC representative, was here in early December to help each student take a survey. The results will be used to guide them to mini sessions with a guest from the chosen career. This will take place on December 19th. It extends learning that took place with Mrs. Schaub in guidance class during their 7th grade year. Thank you to NIACC for making this possible for students!
6th Grade Interviews and CREATE
OMS 6th graders have been working on their writing skills in ELA, and connecting with the older generation of our community through interviews at the local care center and assisted living. This has opened up their eyes to a wealth of knowledge held by important members of the Osage community. Thanks to a generous donation from Callous Fitness, every one of our 6th grade students will be able to make a christmas decoration for the individuals interviewed. Thank you to Joanne at CREATE for supporting us in this endeavor, as we celebrate the holidays through building relationships with those outside the walls of OMS!
Holiday Festivities
We will be hosting our annual OMS holiday open house, this coming Friday (12/20), from 8:30 - 9:20. Please come join us for the viewing of door decorations and hot cocoa and cookies. Our students are excited to showcase their creativity, teamwork, and new cafeteria space!
New Furniture
We are so excited to start to build our vision of a space in the MS commons of OMS. Thank you to Mrs. Schwamman for allowing us to purchase a few pieces to get us up and running. The kids LOVE it!
New ottomans, seating and tables!
"Don't be a grinch, Be KIND!"
New whiteboard dividers and high top stools!

SUCCESSFUL HAPPENINGS
The Prime for Life program is presented to the Freshmen as a preventive measure. This program exposes the studens to the real-world issues of health-related and impairment-related problems associated with using a psychotropic drug.
Students also learn about trigger points and biology + choices = outcome. The students learn that quantity and frequency of use is how addiction occurs instead of the reason why people use it. The program wraps up by giving researched-based, low-risk guidelines to the students.
Mrs. Redenius has been busy teaching students all about baking and giving back. Students provided baked cookies for the Bridges Mentor Cookie Walk.
