Fogelsville is Turning 50!

Coming Events


September 26, Fogelsville Turns 50 Community Open House, Fogelvsille Gym, 11 AM - 2 PM. This community celebration will be open to alumni, former staff members, and other interested friends of Fogelsville. You will meet past principals and observe the many changes which happened during 50 years, by touring the school with guides from the Fogelsville Student Government. QR tags will be placed on various items throughout the school so that visitors can access more information via technology. Artifacts such as t-shirts, yearbooks and meeting agendas will also be on display. Birthday cake and refreshments will be served in the cafe.

September 29, School Board Meeting 7 PM.

September 30, Jaindl and Kernsville School Open Houses, 7 PM.

October 2, PHS Football Home Game against Whitehall/Shirt Off Your Back Night.

October 3, Safe Bus Driver Banquet, 6 PM.

October 4, Kratzer Elementary School Rededication and Open House, 2 PM. The community is invited inside to see the newly renovated school.

Announcements

Four Students Selected for National Music Ensembles
Congratulations to four Parkland students who were selected for the 2015 All-National Honor Ensembles, a prestigious honor ensemble and program of the National Association for Music Education (NAFME). This year 673 students from 49 states and territories were accepted. PHS Freshman Sriyaa Suresh, Advances as one of 30 Finalists in the fifth annual Broadcom MASTERS®– a national, prestigious Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) competition for middle school students

As a result of science fair wins at Lehigh Valley & Delaware Valley (tri-state competition) Science Fairs, Sriyaa Suresh qualified to enter the Broadcom Masters competition with over 2,400 other middle school students from across the entire United States. The project was reviewed by a panel of scientists and engineers. She was first selected as one of 300 semi-finalists and then she was selected as one of 30 finalists! Sriyaa will travel to Silicon Valley on October 1st to compete further. Prizes there will range up to $25,000! Here is a link to the press release for this event:

All parents who fill out the First Week of School Paperwork on the Web Portal by September 26th will be entered to win a Google Chromebook!

CAC October Meeting

The public is cordially invited to attend the October Community Advisory Council Meeting on October 15, at 7 PM in the Administration Center Board Room. The topic will be the College Application Process / PHS Student Activities and a presentation will be made by PHS Guidance Counselor Eric Roberts.

Parkland Ranks 31st on Niche.com PA School Districts (out of 500)
Niche.com recently released its 2015 list of the best school districts throughout the nation, as well as the state of Pennsylvania, and many schools you’ll recognize received high ranks.
