Shiva- The destroyer

Vishnu- The one who balances the world.
The holy book of Hindus is The Vedas.
There are a lot of holidays for Hindus. They are-
Holi- Festival of colors
Mahashivaratri- Night sacred to Shiva
RamaNavami- The birthday of lord Rama.
RakshaBandhan- renewing bonds between brothers and sisters.
KumbhMela- pilgrimage of every 12 years for 4 cities, in India.
Ganesh Chaturthi- Festivals of Ganesh.
Daserra- Victory of lord Rama over demon ravana.
Navaratri- Festival of shakti.
Diwali- Festival of lights.
2) Buddhism- Buddhism is a religion to about 300 million people in the world. The word "budhi" means - to awaken. This religion was found by Siddharta Gotama, who is know as the Buddha. With Buddhism you can lead to a moral life, be mindful and aware of thoughts, and to develop wisdom and understanding. This religion is Monotheistic. The holy book of Buddhists is called Tipitaka, written in indian language called Pali. The English version takes upto 40 volumes. There are 6 major holidays/rituals Buddhists perform-
Uposatha- this day is known as an observance day.
Maka Bucha- basically the day Buddha gained enlightment.
Vesaka- Buddhas birthday.
Asala puja day- celebrates Buddhas first teaching on a full moon night.
Katrina Ceremony- A robe offering ceremony to monks.
Sangamitta Day- This day i a celebrated as, a kings daughter went to Sri Lanka, and planted a sapling around thousands of years ago, and that tree still survives today. That tree is holy to them.
3) Judaism- Judiasm is one of the oldest religions that started out small, and grew large. This religion is monotheistic but has many names of gods. The holybook is called bible, but Jewish bible. Some of their holidays are Chanukah, Passover, Passover 2 etc.
4) Christianity-Christianity developed out of Judaism in the 1st century C.E . It is founded on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and those who follow him are called Christians. Christianity has many different branches and forms with accompanying variety in beliefs and practices. The three major branches of Christianity are Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Protestantism, with numerous subcategories within each of these branches. The holy book is called Bible. It is a monotheistic religion. Their god is called Jesus Christ Some major holidays are-
1) Lent
2) Palm Sunday
3) Good Friday
4) Easter
5) Christmas etc.
5) Islam- Islam is a monotheistic religion, found in the 7th century, by the prophet Muhammad. Their god is known as- Allah. The Quran is the holy book for Muslims. Islam is one of the biggest religions in the world. This is a monotheistic religion. Some major holidays are-
Muharram, Ramadan, Eid-al-Fitr-Eid-al-adha,etc.
