Hi K-2 Team,

Happy three day weekend! We are getting pumped for our Guided Reading PD sessions on Wednesday, February 17th. We're excited to gather together again to continue to refine our guided reading processes for students. Look for an email from me on Tuesday with your final session assignment, materials you'll need for your session, and the location at WAES where your session will be held. This newsletter is full of suggestions connected to guided reading and celebrating our students! Make sure to review everything below and let us know if you have any questions.

Have a great long weekend,

Guided Reading Tip of the Week

STEP Round 3 is ALMOST here! As you move into this testing round, make sure you jot down two teaching points for each student immediately after you finish a student's test. This quick 2 minute notation on an index card or in a journal will help you remember what to target for each individual student. It's easy to lose our thoughts on individual students after doing so many STEP tests, so an immediate note will help you retain this!

Anchors Away February Challenge!

We are looking for the Best Anchor Charts throughout the month of February. One teacher from each grade level will receive this illustrious honor and receive recognition at the March Network CPD! Are you the next Anchors Away winner? We will display your best anchor charts for all to see!

Sight Word Ceremony Shout Out

Shout Out to Ms. Stanford at FAES for an awesome Sight Word Ceremony! Ms. Stanford brought her students to the hallway, other classes knew they were celebrating, and they celebrated the sight words mastered by each student. What a great way to celebrate student growth. See the picture below. Two claps for Ms. Stanford!
