Congratulations, 2021 Governor's STEM Competiton champions:

  • Environmental Impact: Wilson HS, North Alleghany HS, Episcopal Academy


The Governor’s STEM Competition challenges students to research, design, and present a project that improves the quality of life for Pennsylvanians. This year’s theme was “Improving Pennsylvania Through STEM”.


56 teams competed in the 2021 competition. Learn more about each team and their projects in the program booklet, including the Warwick HS/IU13 team (Division 2 3rd runner up) who coded a micro:Bit as part of their project, a Communication Desk for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Don't miss out on these supports for preparing for the exam and filing for the CS add-on certificate:


Use this Google Form to tell us your plans for the exam and certification, and if relevant, request reimbursement. The form allows for multiple submissions allowing you to update your status with the exam.



K-8 Virtual Pathway

Available locally through intermediate unit partners, our CSinPA K-8 Virtual Pathway is open to ALL K-8 educators across Pennsylvania. To request more information, submit this brief form.

Participants are finishing the final module of their self-paced equity and pedagogy course and will meet for a final virtual workshop on June 23.

2021 CSforALL-PA Summit

Join us June 21 - 25 for the fourth annual CSforALL-PA Summit.

The theme for 2021, CS Celebrations, honors how educators across the Commonwealth created, adapted, and expanded CS learning opportunities throughout a year of change. Registration is now open.

CSinPA Build | Fly | Code Student Summer Camp

August 2 - 5, 2021

This 4-day virtual summer camp is designed specifically for students entering grades 9-12 on the Autism Spectrum and will be offered at no cost through a collaboration with PaTTAN, PA Rural Robotics, For the Win Robotics, and Penn State University in conjunction with the National Autism Conference (NAC) in August. All campers receive their own Parrot Mambo drone DIY kit. Register here before July 12.


National Family Code Nights

Everyone is invited, regardless of previous experience and participation. Sign up for a National Family Code Night on the CS is Elementary website.

Perspectives on Equity Survey

Pennsylvania Teachers Advisory Committee (PTAC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) are seeking input from suburban teachers about equity and inclusion in Pennsylvania Schools. Suburban teachers are invited to take this short survey. Separate cohorts and surveys are focusing on the experiences of rural and urban teachers.


Emergency Broadband Benefit

Households struggling to afford internet service and home computers during the pandemic may be eligible for financial assistance under this temporary, federal program. Learn more here.

CSinPA Think Tanks

CSinPA Think Tanks are opportunities for CS educators to get early access to resources and materials, have their voices heard, and connect with one another. Our first Think Tank is an opportunity for K-5 CS educators:

In exchange for feedback about CS is Elementary's new Kode5 courses, you'll receive a special Think Tank digital badge and an entry into a drawing for a set of 15 micro:Bits! Plus, Act 48 credit hours are available. Learn more here!
