Our teachers really are some characters!
Our whole school enjoyed dressing up as book characters and parading through the hallways for Character Day on October 31st!
Students dream of a drug-free future!
Red Ribbon Week was lots of fun at Mt. Carmel. On Pajama Day students learned how drugs would keep them from "following their dreams."
We are proud of Ms. Ginny Fichten!
Mt. Carmel's secretary/bookkeeper, Ginny Fichten, was awarded alternate to the Support Professional of the Year for elementary schools in Madison County. Ms. Ginny plays so many roles in making our school great! We appreciate her as well as our school's Teacher of the Year, Mr. Keith White, who was also recognized at the special ceremony and won a Chromebook for his classroom.
Thanks for your support!
Thanks to all of you who bought and sold cookie dough and to the generous volunteers who spent many hours organizing the operation! We appreciate your support of our students and teachers.
We have a winner....or two!
Congratulations to our lucky Alabama fan, Kayla Cote', and our lucky Auburn fan, Ellie Sullivan, for winning a team jersey! Their names were drawn from all of those who met AEA's Be a Champion and Read challenge. Thanks to PTA for donating the jerseys for these winners.
Project Lead the Way
Our Project Lead the Way grant provides students with valuable STEM learning experiences. Students participate in engaging labs that encourage creative and critical thinking, build teamwork skills, and teach resilience in the face of challenges- very important 21st century skills!
Students Perform at PTA Meeting
Second graders personified book characters at the October PTA meeting. Our next student performance will feature 1st graders at the March 11th meeting.
